Donate your electronic waste to Heartwood House!

 

Since 2006 Heartwood House has been working in partnership with RD Long Computers, under the supervision of Ontario Electronics Stewardship Program which ensures downstream accountability and proper processing of electronic waste. Everybody Wins! is an important and on-going fundraising initiative of Heartwood House.

Special arrangements can be made for companies with large donations of electronic waste. For individual donations call 613-241-5937 to make an appointment to drop off your electronics. Your support of this fundraising initiative is a step to protect electronic waste from ending up in landfills.

  • Glass electronic components (ie bare cathode ray tubes, CRTs)

  • Automotive / Industrial displays

  • Non rechargeable batteries

  • Alkaline batteries

  • Oil filled (ie transformers)

  • Medical equipment (not declared biohazard free)

  • Refrigerators, freezers, or other cooling units containing Freon

  • Refrigerators with built-in televisions

  • Smoke detectors

  • Any equipment that might contain nuclear materials

  • Light bulbs of any kind

Our Mission

Heartwood House serves the residents of Ottawa who are marginalized, living in poverty, and/or in need of educational, mental health, emotional, physical, economic, employment, training or recreational support through collaboration and the development of formal and informal partnerships within the greater community by providing affordable, accessible space and resources for non-profit and charitable organizations to enable them to maximize their services.
