Heartwood House: au coeur de la vie was founded by a group of ten dedicated volunteers, who developed the concept from vision through to implementation over a one year period, beginning in September 2000. Heartwood House was incorporated on March 12, 2001 and it received its charitable status on September 24, 2001.
We believe that nonprofit, charitable organizations are "better together" under one roof sharing ideas and resources in order to deliver more efficient and effective services. Heartwood House is more than just a nice place to be: it is a village of community minded people who know each other and support each other in their daily work. We are always working to make the life of our House better for everyone. This includes developing unique projects that add to the Heartwood environment and assisting member organizations to enhance the work of their programs.
